President Jacob Zuma will lead a South African delegation to the third Brazil, Russia, India and China Summit (Brics) in China this week, the department of international relations said on Sunday.
Zuma would use the opportunity of the summit "to ensure synergy of the Brics mechanism agenda with the development and economic priorities of Africa," said spokesman Clayson Monyela.
The summit would be held on Thursday and Friday at Sanya in the Hainan province of the People's Republic of China.
During the summit, issues of international economic and financial interest would be discussed, Monyela said.
The South African delegation would include International Relations Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, Economic Development Minister Ebrahim Patel and Trade and Industry Minister Rob Davies.
